Day 1: Stonetown - Zanzibar Island

After your guide has collected you at the airport and taken you to your hotel to freshen up, this Zanzibar honeymoon package gets off to a romantic start with a sunset cruise on an Arabian dhow. The dhow sails around the fringes of the island giving guests close up views of the city, as the sun sinks into the west. The city is bathed in glorious colors as guests admire the historical buildings constructed from the stone that gives the city its name.
Enjoy sundowners and snacks as the crew entertain guests with old Swahili tales of this fascinating island and its captivating history.
Guests arrive back at the hotel after sunset and the evening is theirs to enjoy and to dine out in Stone town (own expense).
• Accommodation on Halfboard basis
• Includes: Airport transfer & Dhow cruise

Day 2: Stonetown - Zanzibar Island

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before being collected by your guide for a walking tour of this fascinating city. The city's history is unravelled on a visit to the slave market, where the East African slave trade flourished - a grim reminder of times past. The Arab Fort, the oldest building on Zanzibar, was built after the Portuguese were expelled from the island in 1699. The building has had a variety of uses from a garrison and a prison to a railway terminal. These days it is the headquarters of the Zanzibar international film festival.
Enjoy some retail therapy in Zanzibar's bustling market and in the many gift shops stocked with souvenirs and handicrafts. Wander down winding alleys, admiring the ornately carved and studded doors, the many mosques and the two cathedrals, a testament to a diverse and colourful history. The guide has many tales to tell the hardship of life in Stonetown in days gone by.
After an absorbing day exploring Stonetown, it's time to return to the hotel and freshen up before going out in search of dinner.
• Accommodation: Meals: Breakfast
• Includes: Guided tour of Stonetown.

Day 3: Zanzibar Island

This morning after breakfast guests leave the city behind and head to their accommodation at the beach resort.
En-route there is a stop to take in a spice tour. When you see spices such as cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, nutmeg and turmeric root growing in the plantations, it’s easy to see why Zanzibar is known as the spice island.
Taste some of the unusual fruits that are grown here too, such as jack fruit, custard apple, rambutan and carambola. Henna bush, lipstick tree and lemongrass are some of the plants found here too. The guide shares his knowledge of the spices, which look very different in their natural state to the way they look in the supermarket back home.
With senses reeling from the aromas of this plantation, it’s time to continue to your accommodation at the Ocean Paradise Beach Resort (or similar), for the next few days and some relaxation at the beach. Enjoy dinner tonight at the hotel.
• Accommodation:
• Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
• Includes: Transfer to the beach resort & spice tour.

Day 4: Zanzibar Island

Day 4 is the day to experience an incredibly beautiful tropical paradise. After breakfast, guests depart on the Zanzibar Seafari sailing along the north-east coast of the island, where dolphins are a common sighting.
We head to Mnemba Atoll where world-class snorkelling awaits. There are two quite different, but both amazing, snorkelling sites. One is a coral garden whereas the other is a steep reef that disappears into an abyss. Guests spend a few hours here enjoying the snorkelling.
Later it’s time to board the dhow to cruise to Muyuni Beach where a feast is waiting. Tuck into as much food and drink as you can manage whilst enjoying the scenic views of Mnemba, a privately owned island. Look out for locals working in the seaweed fields at low tide. Seaweed farming is an important industry with the algae exported internationally as a food delicacy.
The rustic beach banda is a shady spot with hammocks scattered around, ideal for snoozing whilst digesting the magnificent meal.
This unforgettable day ends with a sail back to Nungwi and the hotel and dinner, if you can manage it.
• Accommodation:
• Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
• Includes: Dhow trip to Mnemba Atoll, snorkelling & lunch at Muyuni Beach.

Day 5: Zanzibar Island

Today guests are free to spend the day relaxing at the beach and enjoying the resort facilities. Speak to the concierge about the watersports and tours available, some of which include diving, windsurfing, sailing and kayaking or book a boat cruise or a dolphin tour (own expense). If you are feeling energetic the resort offers a fully-equipped fitness centre, beach volleyball, billiards, and table tennis. Pamper yourselves with a visit to the spa or just soak up the sun, enjoy a dip in the pool, read a book or take a walk. This is your day to chill.
In the evening enjoy a sundowner at the hotel, followed by dinner.
